Artist Quiz...

Thu Oct 22, 2009, 5:32 AM
  • Eating: Potato Pie (Well, I was when I started)
  • Drinking: Water
Dammit! I was doing this earlier, but I accidentally backed out of the page, so I lost all the quirky jokes I had mixed in there, which means I guess I'll be doing it seriously now. =(

Anyhow, I got this from :iconmeteor-summoner:. Looking back, I seem to get a lot of these interesting little quizzes and games from her. I guess we're both bored. =P

What does your username have to do with you?
It's my main character.

What is your current icon of?
It's my main character.

How many watchers do you have and how many people are you currently watching?
It's my main cha- Oh, different answer this time. I watch exactly 20 people, and exactly 10 watchers.

Do you have more than one account?
No, though after I learned that art submitted here was called "Deviations", I seriously regretted not naming myself Error. Because then I could call my work...

...The Standard Deviations of Error.

I'm sorry, did I just kill you with that one? I didn't realize that pun was carrying lethal force!

Name 3 of your favorite artists on DA
:iconkeysha-chan:, whose stuff is always really good, :iconkite-ride:, whose stuff is completely awesome in a surreal steam-punk sort of way (and who does awesome Flash videos), and, err...

I don't know! Most of the people I watch are completely awesome! Luckily, I watch exactly 20 people, just enough for a dice roll!

...14! :iconrisachantag:! A selection I can very emphatically agree with!

What deviant do you admire because of their personality?
Well, I like a lot of the Deviants I watch, which is to say that not just the art, but the personalities draw me. I don't think I could really watch somebody whose attitude I couldn't stand.

That said, there is one person who stands apart from the crowd. That would be my fiancee (Damn DA's lack of special character support!), :iconshyna2:. Since we met online, personality would be the very first thing that drew me, and ours overlap in all the best places. =P

How many people on here do you actually know in reality? Post their avatars.
Just these two people: :iconjaimas:, :iconshyna2:
I'm really very introverted in real life, and can only really express myself to those who are already my friends. That means that there aren't ever going to be many people that I know for real on here.

Do you comment, fave, or both?
Mainly, I just comment. I don't favorite much unless I either really REALLY like it, or really like it but not enough to download. Occasionally, I'll also +fave on a fit of whimsy, but that's all based on my completely random mind.

What do you typically post on deviantart?
Journal games. No, seriously, all I really seem to do around here is post journal games. Occasionally I actually do some art, in which case I post that up. The most commonly appearing art would be the pages of my storyboard, and those just go to the scraps, so it's not even something that gets much attention.

Do you participate in clubs or contests here on DA?
Ehh, community stuff isn't really my thing. Art games are fine, and I'd join that, but I don't really like to compete, so I wouldn't join a contest.

What is your most popular deviation?
Well, for "Most Favorites", it's this one: [link] while "Most Views" is this one: [link] with a HOLY CRAP-lot of views. Well, for me anyhow.

What's your favorite submission in your favorites gallery?
I don't know. Either this one [link]
or this one [link] .

What are the things you wish you could draw better?
I can't draw girls at all, and I'm going to have to deal with that problem some day. Specifically, they always keep coming out mannish-looking. Also, I wish I could at least draw feet better. I can get by with my crappy yet serviceable hands, but my feet are terrible. I also wish I could draw animals better. And dragons. I'm REALLY going to need to learn to draw dragons better if I'm going to be doing a fantasy comic. There's TONS more, but I could really go on forever.

Are you a subscriber?
Nah, I don't feel like it. I wouldn't really get enough use out of the features to justify the expense.

How many hours a day do you spend on DA?
Ehh, I spend a few minutes every day, just checking to see what everybody's doing. I only put actual time into the site if I'm uploading stuff or doing something like this.

Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
I'm super-fast. I don't normally brag, but this is something I'm really proud of. I can get just over 100 words per minute, and that's factoring in time spent correcting any mistakes I might make.

In essence, I can type almost as quickly as I could say what I'm typing.

What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
Nobody really asks me things. I think I do a pretty good job of explaining things on here, so nobody asks me all that many questions here, and I pretty much hang by myself in real life, so nobody says much of anything at all there (yes, I just referred to it as if it were an outside place. Quiet!) Anyhow, I can't think of any logical question that would annoy me.

What is the most annoying comment you get?
Hahaha, that doesn't happen often enough to be an issue.

What inspires you?
Funny things and cool things. Most of all, my complete and utter insanity. You can't seriously believe that half the stuff I come up with is the product of a completely stable mind, can you? =P

Do you use any traditional media?
For a time, I did most of my work in OpenCanvas, using a friggin' MOUSE. Eventually, I took a long break from drawing, and now I can't draw with a mouse anymore. So now all of my work is in my old style: Black pen on a piece of paper.

Do you associate people online with their icons?
Yes. I naturally assume people's genders based on the gender of their icon. It takes a little time and a lot of effort to stop thinking of people's genders wrong once I've gotten the idea into my head.

Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?
No. I didn't even know that was a possibility. o,o

Everyone has considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?
Ehh, not really. I will someday, when I'm ready to actually publish my comic (if that ever happens), but even then I think I'll just keep this account open and use DA as a place to store random doodles and such. I've got too much of an emotional investment here to really leave. Maybe if all of the people I consider as friends (of the internet variety) were to leave, then I'd leave, since if that happened I wouldn't have anything interesting to do here.

I mean, if I only came here to submit art, I could use Photobucket or something for that. I came here initially because my friends had accounts too.

Anyhow, looks like that's about it. You guys should give this a try!

Your fave has pleased the gaming gods this day.  As such, I pass along their blessings.  May your crits glow with the fire of a thousand sparklers, your rocket jumps reach the clouds, and your uber charge last an eternity!
